Even in a good silo, life can be hell.

Elizabeth the Other, born to the silo and living under the stain of her father's actions, has no one. She is alone, untouchable and unloved. Her only outlet is 25 Drums, the place where teen shadows mix, mingle and find a mate. She will find no life partner there, but she can dance. And tomorrow is her 20th birthday.

In Silo 49 Dark Till Dawn, Greg changed the fate of the silo with the single word, "Go." Lizbet's legacy was his ability to let go and let Lillian fly. Now go back to Race Year 71 and live the story of Greg and Lizbet in Silo 49 Flying Season of the Mis-Recorded.

A twenty-thousand word novelette set in the WOOL universe, with permission from Hugh Howey.

Silo 49 Flying Season for the MisRecorded eBook Ann Christy

This is a love story but one with complications. Being in the Silo takes a back seat. Lizbet is an outcast because her father was a serial killer. Not much about him except that his crimes are uncovered and a young Lizbet is watching thru a crack in the door as her life unravels. I think this is a very interesting look at how people are impacted by family members' criminal behavior. Not something we spend a lot of time thinking about. Lizbet grows up understanding why she is shunned. We are witness to her pain when she is tormented and bullied by former friends. She refuses to let the only people who have been kind to her be effected by her curse and takes matters into her own hands. I spent many pages in tears. Christy's writing is sensitive and insightful.

Silo 49 Flying Season for the MisRecorded eBook Ann Christy Reviews

For those who have read the Silo 49 stories it was very special to understand the historic love story between Greg and Lizbet. Learning of their unique love for one another explains emotional volumes why he is so powerfully attracted to Lillian some 20 years later. It is well written as are all the other Ann Christy stories and was a pleasure to read. I highly recommend Silo 49 Flying Season for the Mis-Recorded. Zev Paiss author of Silo Saga Silo 42 Deception ( Worlds Novella)
I've never read the original series these books are based on, so I have no idea what to expect... And the answer is to expect the unexpected. I love when I can't predict what will happen. For this particular book of course I knew the major plot points since it is Greg's back story. The writing is wonderful, and I hated to put the book down. I can't wait to read more from this author.
This author is amazing! I discovered her when I was looking for more books by Hugh Howey last month. I didn't even know other authors were writing more books in his "Silo" world. I bought one of hers to try it out. Loved it and bought, read, and loved every one in this series. Bought, read, and loved all of her other series Between Life and Death, PePrs, Strikers . . . .
I read (and loved) the first book in this series never having had the pleasure of reading the Wool series. So I stopped and read that series then continued with this one. I have enjoyed every page and am sorry that I have now finished the last page of the last book. The characters and plots are brilliantly developed and live through the author's skillful writing. Hopefully she will bless us with more of this series in the near future. A must read for any science fiction/dystopian loving reader.
Read and understand the relationship between Greg and Lizbet. The half-Other whom he fell in love with. A tragic story of a girl who's father ruined her life. Her existence so sad and lonely after being shunned by everyone in the silo. Except, one boy who loved her.
Perfectly done companion book to the series. Explains a lot. It does leave me questioning how Lizbet's father came to be an Other though. Was he born in the Silo and inherently evil or did he somehow arrive there? Leaves me wondering if being an Other is more of a personality trait than just a name they gave to those from Silo 1.
This is a Prequel to the third book in the Silo 49 series so if you haven't read the others yet, please wait until you have. The main characters are so well developed that I was/am emotionally invested in them. This story is tragic and beautiful. I won't go into detail or give the storyline away for fear of spoilers. This whole series left me wanting much more; especially wanting to know more about where the third book left off. My only criticism is that I wish the author had someone to better proofread her works. I know, from experience, that is is hard to proof your own writing. For some reason we just can't catch all of our mistakes; the mind just skips over them and we see it the way it should be. That being said, it is a minor problem when you consider how beautiful the stories are.
I just finished reading the full series of five books. They were all easy, quick reads that did a good job of keeping my attention. The plot and writing style allowed me to feel like I was actually in the silo and kept making me want to read more. All of the indie writers that have been inspired by Hugh Howey have given us readers a gift by taking the risk of publishing their work. I didn't want the silo saga to end and their stories have made it last so much longer.

I have read many different authors now and some of the stories have mistakes and feel a little less polished than the professional edited authors. Some reviewers make a big deal about that but I don't feel like it should be a deterrent to anyone who is thinking about reading the indie stories. If anything, I actually find that the rawness adds a great deal of humanism and emotion that gets edited out by the pros. Ann Christy's stories are on a good middle ground of feeling professional but not so much as to take out her emotion towards the silo people.

I really enjoyed this book and the others in the series. I found it very neat how well they are joined to the original series but are still different. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loved Wool.
